Clicking any bond with the command key down changes the bond to an “inside” double bond. Click again to change the side for the short line of the bond. Clicking the hit box for an arrow of this type changes the direction. Clicking the hit box for an arrow with another type changes the type. Drag to create arrows. Abort the drag by moving the cursor back to the starting position or outside of the work area. The length constraint is removed by holding the shift key down. The angle constraint is removed by holding the option key down. Clicking the hit box for a bond of this type changes the direction. Clicking the hit box for a bond with another type changes the type. Create single, double, and triple bonds with this tool. A single bond is created for new bonds. Clicking the hit box of a single bond changes it to double. Clicking a double bond changes it to triple. Clicking a triple bond changes it to single. Drag to create bonds. Abort the drag by moving the cursor back to the starting position or outside of the work area. The length constraint is removed by holding the shift key down. The angle constraint is removed by holding the option key down. Other objects with hit boxes are deleted by clicking within a hit box. Delete pictures by clicking them. A text block is deleted by clicking it. Delete objects with this tool. Atoms are deleted by clicking within the hit box. The adjacent bonds are also deleted. Bonds are deleted by clicking within their hit box too. Hold the option key down to delete the entire fragment. Press backspace to delete selections. Use copy or cut (edit menu) to copy objects to the clipboard. With the option key down, all objects are selected first. Click the font icon to change the font, style, or size of text in selected text blocks. Click the icon to show the full-page view. Click the icon again to hide the full-page view. Click the icon and then the work area to deposit text by using standard Macintosh text-editing features. Press the return key to start a new line. Click the icon to print the document. Drag the mouse to create a bracket. Brackets have hit boxes at the corners that can be used with other operations to delete, reposition, or resize them. Click the icon to align selected objects. Hold the option key down to use the alignment choice from the previous dialog box. Click the icon to change font, style, or size of text. Click the icon to save a document. Hold the option key down to change the name (Save As). Click the icon to open a document. Hold the command key down and type “N” (⌘N), to create a new document. Click the icon to show rulers. Click again to hide them. Click the icon to setup the document page. For printing on the ImageWriter, the tall adjusted box should be checked. Click to dot an atom. Click again to remove the dot. Click the icon to customize the DA. The check box, “For LaserWriter”, should be checked if the document will be printed on this printer, either directly or from another application.
